A little update...

Cooper is finally starting to feel better I think. He still has a yucky nose, but it is not so green anymore, thank goodness! We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he weighed 9lbs5oz. We are so happy about that. It doesn't put him back on the charts yet, but it is an improvement and we will take all we can get. The pediatrician does not agree with the pulmonologist about surgery. He feels we need to give it another month and try a few more things before doing a fundo. I completely agree at this point. After the research I have done, a fundo is a last resort. He said the next thing he would want to try would be a milk free, soy free formula such as Nutramigen. He thinks it is possible he may have a milk soy protein intolerance aka MSPI. He said we could do it for a few days and see how he does and if there is no change, then return to breastfeeding, but if he does better, he would remain on it until he's off formula at around a year. He said we didn't have to try it unless I wanted to, or before moving to surgery. It is such a difficult thing. Part of me thinks, maybe we should try it, but then the other part of me thinks, then I would be done breast feeding, and I am not ready for that. If I new it was the cure, I'd do it. I just wish I had the answers. Don't we all?! On a happier note, Cooper rolled over Tuesday night! He was very frustrated with Curtis for changing his clothes and he got mad enough to flip himself over. And the he did it again. It is so great to know even though his weight is low, he is still thriving.

that is so funny. we have been told to start neocate formula for grayson because of how bad is eczema, reflux and congestion are. but i just don't want to. if i KNEW it would cure him, i would do it in a heartbeat. one thing you could do is pump like crazy to keep your supply up just in case it doesn't work? also, the neocate is about $700 a month and we can't get insurance to pay for it. so i have no idea how we'd do that. the neocate has no milk proteins at all, but nutramigen, though it is milk and soy free, it still can affect babies who have a milk allergy, like grayson. fyi... not sure if cooper has a milk thing or not, but keep that in mind. i forgot about the apnea thing, i remember now. i'm SO glad you're getting some rest and that the monitors help!! not sure when we'll get to vernon. i'd really like to this spring, so we'll see. my uncle steve's wife is due in may with a baby girl and i really want to come see her, although they're in dallas. not to mention i'd love to MEET cooper and andrew! love you
