Sleeping beauty!

Cooper got this precious lovey from TFC in the mail the other day. It came at just the right time because I have been wanting him to get attached to something. I think he likes it!

Easter Pics

I hope everyone had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. Ours was very nice. We spent Saturday evening at mom and dad's and then Sunday with the Schiwarts. Cooper looked quite cute in his Easter frock. He wore the shortalls even though it was cold outside. We bundled him up. I figured, I bought it for Easter, so he was going to wear it. We had a wonderful church service that reminded me what the true meaning of Easter and how our Christ suffered and made all things new for us.

A little perspective...

Early today I posted about what a bad day we were having. Well, I have been thinking about this day and have decided to take another look. Our day is nothing compared to the day Jesus had. I am not suffering. Christ was crucified this day. Who am I to complain about a crying baby!? I should be on my knees praising the Lord for giving me life; for letting me live! Today may seem dim, but Sunday is coming. Christ lives! May everyone have a blessed Easter.

I think I jinxed it!

So I decided to brag to the doctor and all of you about how well Cooper has been doing lately. Big mistake! I am pretty sure that I have jinxed it now. We have had three bad days in a row. On Wednesday, he was good during the morning and afternoon, but that evening he screamed for hours. Curtis tried to give him a bottle, but he was not very interested. He had not had one in a few weeks and acted like, "what the heck is this!" He finally took about an once and a half, then nursed and went to sleep. Yesterday he was fussy most of the day, and the evening was horrible. This morning, he has cried a lot, but is finally napping after at least an hour screaming fit. I think he may be trying to teeth, and from what I have read, the reflux is more severe when they are teething. He seems so little to teeth, but lots of babies do it for months. Great! Hopefully things will get better so we can have a peaceful Easter weekend.

Weighing in at...

A solid 9lbs 14oz. That is a 9oz gain in only 2 weeks! This is by far the best gain he has ever had and I haven't even supplemented in almost 3 weeks. He has defiantly been playing catch up and nursing constantly. He still is below the 5th percentile but that is ok. Any gain is a good gain if you ask me. They took a stool sample today as well as he has been having several poop diapers. I really think it is because he is eating so much, but it is always good to make sure. We don't have to go back for a whole month. That will be the longest he has ever gone. He does have a Cooks appointment on April 4, but still a month without seeing the pedi is fine by me, and my pocketbook! We also had Cooper's pictures made in his Easter outfit today. They turned out so good. He is smiling in everyone. I was so happy about that. He is having a very bad night tonight. I am sure I ate something I shouldn't have and am paying for it now. It breaks my heart to hear him in pain. I'm going to give him his meds and a bottle and hopefully he will be able to sleep.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today is a bittersweet day as it is the forth anniversary of my Mammy Joy's death. I don't like to refer to it as death though, because it was the beginning of her new life, her eternal life in heaven. I know today as I sit here writing this, she is in heaven singing praises around our great Lord's throne. I am so blessed this year to be with my family and have my beautiful baby boy. I wish that she could be here to meet him. I pray that they will meet one day. As I look in the back yard, I hope to see the white squirrel that she loved so much. It is a constant reminder of her and I know she lives today in heaven.

Money well spent

So on Tuesday I put Cooper in Andrew's swing to see how he would like it. It is one of those cool kind that swing side to side and front to back. Well, he really seemed to like it. He even slept in it for about an hour, which is amazing for him. I decided that since we had some extra money right now, it might be a good time to invest in a swing. Boy was it! He loves it. I was able to take a shower yesterday (which never happens anymore) and today I got ready with TWO hands! This piece of equipment has saved my life; I am not exaggerating, this is the only thing keeping me sane. He is doing so good lately. He's like a new child, the one I had always new he could be. Just threaten him with surgery and formula and he'll straighten right up it seems. He is so happy these days. I am really getting to enjoy him now instead of having to worry all the time. Don't get me wrong, he still has his moments, but they are much fewer than before. Praise Jesus, our prayers are being answered! We have a weight check next Wednesday, and I am pretty sure he will still be off the charts, he would have had to gain over a pound in two weeks to be in the 5th percentile, but that is ok, as long as he's gaining. Thanks for all the prayers. They are working so keep 'em coming.
